PODCAST: Two People, featuring Josh Yates
A new podcast for our little garden! This one’s on episode 20 already, so we’ve got some catching up to do.

We’re so excited to introduce you to Two People, a podcast we fell in love with somewhere back in its early episodes (there’s now more than 20).
Each episode features host Blaine Lay interviewing one other interesting individual–and they are so interesting! Also, the technical talents of producer Chris Payne make this a podcast of actual quality.
Blaine and Chris are people after our own collective heart. They’re curious, they’re appreciative, and they genuinely want you to know folks from all over your city.
Here are our favorite episodes so far:
- #16 Tom Silvestri — Tom is the publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and he is not only a very personable guy to talk to, he is full of all sorts of wisdom.
- #17 Katherine Wintsch — We’ve been deeply in love with Katherine Wintsch for several years, after a talk she gave motivated at least one of us to make some big life changes.
- #14 Craig Dodson — Craig runs the Richmond Cycling Corps, an organization we can’t get enough of.
- And of course #12 Carrie Rose Pace and #10 Valley Haggard, two of our 2016 Fascinating People.

Josh Yates is the Director at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at UVA. They’ve got project called Thriving Cities, which provides a framework for thinking about building healthy cities. Josh talks about how a city is more like a complex ecosystem, than a factory with levers. If you like cities, this one is for you.
