Concerned businesses in Richmond and Washington D.C., have banded together to host simultaneous fundraisers for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to assist with the relief efforts for animals affected by the oil spill in the Gulf.

The Richmond event is this evening, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 7pm to 10pm at Glave Kocen Gallery at 1620 W. Main Street

A $30 donation provides entrance to an evening of original artwork, food from local favorites Olio and Mosaic, and networking with people willing to make a difference. Live music by BJ Kocen and a prize raffle round out the evening. A cash bar will be available, and the first two drinks are complimentary.

All proceeds will go to the National Wildlife Foundation. Organizers hope to raise $20,000 or more from both cities.

Visit the event website for more information and to buy tickets.
