Olio (located at 2001 1/2 W Main Street and home to affordable retail beer prices and yummy gourmet sandwiches) has several events this week and next. Tonight, Thursday, February 3, features guitarist Christian McGee and food and drink specials from 6pm to 8pm.

Then, on February 4th is their popular First Friday wine dinner series at 6pm. $30 will get you four courses, each paired with wine. Olio’s casual style is evident in these dinners, which feel more like a dinner party than a formal fine dining event. Matthew Leader, from locally owned wine distributor Country Vintner, will direct the wine pairings. Call 804-355-5182 to reserve a seat. (See menu below.)

(Olio is also currently offering a coupon for 25% off your purchase of certain adult beverages that we can’t mention specifically.)

For Valentine’s Day, they have two choices: eat in or takeout. With a choice of fish, meat, or veggie entrée, sides, and a bottle of wine for around $50, your takeout meal comes ready to reheat in an oven safe container. Upscale plates and utensils are also available for a cleanup-free meal. For those dining in, they’ll seat guests from 5pm until 9pm. Call for reservations.
