Nominations open for CMoR’s Teacher of the Year

The Children’s Museum of Richmond wants you to nominate an outstanding educator for Preschool Teacher and Kindergarten Teacher of the Year!

On Tuesday, June 4th, the Children’s Museum of Richmond will host its Book Bank Champion Awards Luncheon. As part of this luncheon, CMoR will award the Central Virginia Preschool Teacher of the Year and Central Virginia Kindergarten Teacher of the Year to two outstanding educators “who exemplify the spirit and dedication early childhood teachers devote to preparing children for success in school and life.”

Between now and Thursday, April 30th, you are invited to nominate a preschool or kindergarten teacher who exemplifies one or more of the following qualities:

  • Creativity and innovation in the classroom
  • Passion and commitment to literacy
  • Use of play-based learning
  • Perseverance despite increasing challenges
  • Establishment of a nurturing learning environment

Entries must be 500 words or less and will be judged by a panel of regional education experts and leaders from throughout Central Virginia. Winners will be awarded at the Book Bank Champion Award Breakfast.
