New restaurants: March 2013
Richmond remains fertile ground for restaurants, and despite the recent cold March has yielded a good crop.
If you’re looking to stay on top of the restaurant scene, or just try something new, here are three new places that opened in March to put on your to-eat list.

Pork Chops & Grits Cafe
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this new Jackson Ward restaurant specializes in soul food and traditional American fare. If you need proof, just peruse these delicious-looking photos!
Lamplighter — Scott’s Addition
Lamplighter’s existing Fan location will stay put, but now Lamplighter’s unique coffee and pastries have another place to call home. The spot is open 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. But owner Noelle Archibald told us that she’ll likely expand hours sometime by the summer.
The new Lamplighter is located at 1719 Summit Ave.
Jorge’s Cantina
Jake Crocker’s fourth Richmond restaurant is at the corner of Floyd and Robinson in the old Fan House location. The menu features Mexican cuisine and a slew of tequilas and margaritas. Fajitas, salads, and appetizers range from $5 – $12.
Jorge’s is open for dinner service for now, with lunch offered on the weekends. If you see George Washington sporting a sombrero, then you’re in the right place!
