New restaurants in January

A slow restaurant January for a town that loves new restaurants.

Buddy’s Place

January 15th

A fixture neighborhood bar on Robinson Street in the Fan since 1982, Buddy’s Place began a new era on January 15th. The new space, formerly the Viceroy, and previously Café Diem, largely emulates the original location, complete with Buddy’s signature neon signage, photos of patrons from over the years on the walls, and, of course, the huge wall-mounted buffalo head.

Four Brother’s Bistro and Grill

January 27th

Cheesesteaks, burgers, fries, and subs: the staples of a growing college student. Four Brother’s Bistro and Grill is open at the corner of Lombardy and Broad and has a menu that–other than focused on feeding college kids–draws inspiration from “New York Deli’s and Philadelphia Cheesesteaks.” Note that all of the brothers pictured in the logo have beards.
