New restaurants in December

They say keep the best for last, so these two restaurants may be 2013’s final (and finest) dining hurrah.

Lucy’s restaurant

December 21st

Husband and wife Jason and Amanda Lucy have long dreamed of opening a restaurant, and their dream came true last month in Jackson Ward. The couple is keeping the farm-to-table concept in house, as many ingredients (including the black angus beef) come from Amanda Lucy’s farm in Westmoreland County. Head over to try the restaurant’s seasonal American fare like steak, seafood, and vegetables. Remember folks, dreams do come true, and they can be very delicious too.

Alcove

December 27th

Taking over the old A2 spot downtown, Alcove was created by two friends who wanted Indian food to be flavorful yet mild and crafted to be light and healthy. Good Indian food that’s good for you? Sounds good to me!
