New restaurant at Rockett’s Landing by Spring 2011
Robert Cox Jr., the owner of Metro Grill and Curbside, plans to open a new Key West-inspired restaurant on the banks of the river at Rockett’s Landing. Beginning in spring 2011, Richmonders will get a taste of Conch Republic Rockett’s.
Conch Republic Rockett’s, a forthcoming “casual dining” restaurant on the banks of the James, will hopefully follow on the Boathouse’s success. Restaurateur Robert Cox Jr., the man behind Metro Grill and Curbside, plans to offer weekday lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends in a relaxed setting.
Says Cox, “We’ve designed the restaurant so that every seat in the house – whether you’re sitting inside or out, at a table or one of the two bars – will have a terrific view of the James River. I think Richmonders are hungry for more riverfront dining options, and Rocketts Landing is the perfect setting. I’m very excited about being down there next spring.”
The 6,000 square-foot space is scheduled to open in the spring of 2011, serving a menu of Key West-inspired specialties, such as gator chili, conch fritters, po’ boys, crawfish etouffé,, low country shrimp and grits, and grillades.

Can’t tell from the description whether you are too casual for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The Boathouse is booked for the date we wanted. . . we need to serve 60 people on Friday, May 27, 2011.
Curious, is it normal for you NOT to mention the Designer, Architect or Contractor, of a new building design??
Best Regards,
RM
Of course it’s not normal. I should have mentioned that the building is designed by H&A Architects and Engineers (and that’s the extent of the info I have).
Sorry I missed that. You try to process a press release quickly, you screw up.
