New menu at Globehopper
Globehopper, the Main Street coffeehouse and lounge bridging Shockoe Bottom and Church Hill, has a new menu. Highlights include sandwiches made with Billy Bread, fun twists on old favorites, and a few new drink concoctions sure to lift your spirits.
Globehopper, the Main Street coffeehouse and lounge bridging Shockoe Bottom and Church Hill, has a new menu featuring breakfast, lunch, snacks, and pastries. They’re also now serving Billy Bread which is made with locally milled flour; it will be baked next door at Aziza’s restaurant in their wood-fired oven. Globehopper will use Billy Bread on all of their sandwiches and pair it with their homemade soups.
New food additions to the menu include the Buddha Bowl for $7.95: black beans, brown rice, guacamole, black olives, sour cream and Hopper Sauce (a tahini, garlic, lemon, and almond concoction) and their much-loved Masala Wrap in salad form (curried chicken salad, romaine, and crunchy noodles) for $7.95. Both come with Billy Bread on the side.
Paring down the menu overall will help make room for more specials, and their new relationship with Fall Line Farms Food Co-op will allow Globehopper to feature more locally-sourced ingredients. Globehopper manager Kimmy Certa sells her popular line of Mother Bars through Fall Line Farms. Mother Bars are tasty, filling, and healthy snack bars available in 40 varieties, like Cranberry Walnut, Almond & Date, Chocolate Cardamom, and Black & White.
One of the few coffeehouses to also offer beer/wine/spirits, Globehopper has new goodies there too, like the Firefly Chai (vanilla chai intensified with Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka) and the Caribbean Coffee (French Press Coffee with vanilla and dark rum, topped with fresh whipped cream and cinnamon).
This week they’re serving Pecan Milk Lattes while supplies last. And don’t forget: Globehopper is also host to book clubs, live music, and community meetings. Keep an eye on their events calendar for the fun stuff they’ve got planned.
