Tuesday, August 3 is the 27th Annual National Night Out, and Richmond has all kinds of events planned.

For those of you not familiar with National Night Out is an opportunity for involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials to work together to (according to the NNO website):

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

A few of the community news sites have put together information regarding events going on in their areas:

We’ll update links as more info becomes available and as more posts from the community news sites start popping up. If you don’t see your community listed here, make sure to check out this list of NNO events from the Richmond Police Department (it’s a PDF, fyi). And if you know of any other NNO events going on, please feel free to share them with us in the comments.

We hope to see you all out and about tomorrow evening!
