More Noodles in the Fan

“I want to make it hipster-friendly.”

According to my inside source, Foo Dog is 2 weeks or so from opening, but that’s not the only new noodle joint looking to open shop on Main Street.

RichmondBizSense.com has the news about Fan Noodle Bar coming to 2301 W. Main Street (seen above in outdated Google Map Image). Owner Sonny Kiatsuranon is planning “hangover food” that will include a mix of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine. The plan (if the city allows) is to stay open late (as in 3:00 AM) to serve those drunk night owls.

The article also has the possible quote of the year.

As for setting prices for his target crowd, entrees at Fan Noodle bar won’t be more than $8, Kiatsuranon said.

“I don’t want anything expensive,” he said. “I want to make it hipster-friendly.”

Fan Noodle Bar hopes to open in April.

If you’re eating noodles in The Fan, there’s a good chance it’s from the same family tree. Sonny Kiatsuranon is son to Sukanya Pala-art, owner of Mom’s Siam and his brother, Joe Kiatsuranon, operates My Noodle on Monument Avenue.
