Monument City Coffee now open for your coffee and record buying needs

Monument City Coffee and Records (306A E. Grace St.), two great tastes that taste great together, is now officially open. This week is their soft opening so be patient if things don’t go perfectly as they work the kinks out. You could even buy a Kinks record to help.

They’ll be serving serving coffee, espresso, bagels, wraps, and eventually beer from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the week and staying open a little later on the weekend. Official weekend hours TBD.

This post got me thinking of songs that mention coffee and I came up woefully short. So I jumped on the Google machine and find this list of The 10 Best Songs About Coffee. The list includes Beastie Boys with Intergalatic which contains the following lines. “When it comes to beats well I’m a fiend/I like my sugar with coffee and cream/Well I got to keep it going keep it going full steam.” Possible oversight in not mentioning Black Coffee in Bed by Squeeze on the list.
