The Magpie & Ejay Rin opens, The Dining Room goes retro, and a good place to take a cheap date
Staying in the Richmond restaurant loop can be a part-time job, that’s why we take the time to update you with the latest culinary tid bits. This week you can visit a gastropub, a noodle bar, pay 1989 prices at one of Richmond’s swankiest joints, and visit a Fan favorite with your main squeeze.
The Magpie is now open at 1301 West Leigh Street behind the Siegel Center. The gastropub is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday with a variety of small plates and entrees available. Ejay Rin is now open at 201 West 7th Street in the Corrugated Box Building. The restaurant is a partnership between Bill Foster, formally of Zed Cafe, and Andy Howell formally of Cafe Rustica. Now open for lunch, dinner, and drinks. Download their menu HERE (heads up; it’s a PDF).
To celebrate their 23rd anniversary, The Dining Room at the Berkeley Hotel is hosting a “Dine like it’s 1989” event for the entire month of August. For dinner service only, the AAA Four Diamond restaurant is offering a menu based on their 1989 prices. Take a look at the discounted menu HERE (it’s another PDF).
Speaking of cheap dates, Strawberry Street Cafe is now hosting couples night on Wednesdays. You can get two entrees and an appetizer for only $26.95! Important to note: no dating is actually required to participate in couples night.
