Kickers’ Brand the Brew Contest

Your chance to make beer history.

Recently I was lucky enough to head out to Wild Wolf Brewery to participate in efforts to create a unique beer for the Richmond Kickers. A group of fans and Kickers staff spent most of the day talking with brewers, sampling beers and coming up with a flavor profile. It was hard work. Beer was drunk, soccer was talked, more beer was drunk but in the end a consensus was reached.

The beer will be called Kick It Hunny. The “Kick it” aspect is obvious enough considering the name of the team and if you’re familiar with Wild Wolf you’ll recognize the unique spelling of Hunny, their most popular beer Hunny Blonde. Hunny Blonde will play a role in Kick It Hunny as the base and the plan is to add more hops so it lands somewhere between a Belgian and American Pale Ale. It will be available at Kickers games in 2014 and select Richmond bars.

The beer style and name have been decided and now the Kickers are reaching out to Richmond for a logo. Contest entrants have a chance to win invitations to the VIP launch event, a custom Kickers jersey and a private party for 25 at a Kickers home game.

To enter the Kick It Hunny Brand the Brew Contest submit your logo designs to Hunter Leemon, Richmond Kickers Director of Sales at hleemon@richmondkickers.com.  Final logo submissions must be received no later than Thursday, March 13, 2014. The winning design will be unveiled the week of March 17, 2014.
