It’s a start…
Governor McDonnell recently proposed a budget amendment (to the tune of $3.3 million) that will allow the City to purchase the site of a historic slave burial ground from VCU (who is currently using the space as a parking lot). If approved, the transfer of property won’t go into effect until this summer.

Nice move McDonnell, this has been a long time coming. That site was also the site that Gabriel was hanged and buried. There is a lot to learn under there.
