Henrico Police identifies bicyclist struck in fatal accident Thursday night

Wendell F. Davis, 69, was killed in the accident.

From Henrico Police:

On Thursday, April 15, 2016, at 8:53 PM, Henrico Police and Fire personnel responded to the intersection of Gaskins Road and Springfield Road for an accident involving a vehicle and bicycle.

A Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on Gaskins Road when it struck a cyclist who was riding on the left side of the right lane. The cyclist, identified as Wendell F. Davis, was pronounced at the scene.

Members of the Henrico Police Crash Team continue to investigate this accident. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in this crash.

Wendell F. Davis, 69, of the 400 block of E. Ladies Mile Road, was killed in the crash.
