Henrico Police bust mobile meth lab in Glen Allen
A couple was allegedly running a mobile lab out of the back of their pickup truck.
Henrico Police had quite a situation on their hands Thursday morning as they worked to locate and shut down a mobile meth lab.
On Thursday just before 11:00 AM, Henrico Police responded the 11000 block of Branch Road for reports of a suspicious situation. A caller reported a truck occupied by two people that appeared to be involved in illegal dumping.
Officers located the vehicle and its occupants soon after arriving on scene. During the investigation, a male suspect, identified as 53-year-old James Kent Booth of the of the 15300 block of Mountain Road, provided officers with false identification and was placed under arrest.
Police began to inventory the vehicle operated by Booth. During the search, officers located a mobile clandestine methamphetamine laboratory within the vehicle.
Once the suspected meth lab was located, officers secured and evacuated the area. Members of the Drug Enforcement Administration and Virginia State Police responded to render the laboratory safe and dispose of the hazardous materials.
Henrico Police charged Booth with one count of providing false information to law enforcement. An additional charge for the manufacture of methamphetamine is pending.
The female occupant of the vehicle is not facing any charges at this time.
