It’s time for the people of Richmond to share their candy goodwill. The kids are counting the days and can barely sleep at night dreaming of lugging home a brown Ukrop’s shopping bag filled to the tippy top with sugary goodness. It doesn’t even matter that every parent in America will keep the insane amount of candy on top of the fridge and dole out three pieces a day. It’s Halloween! Try to feed your children a healthy dinner first, wander your neighborhood and smile at toddlers dressed like Yoda. Hallowed Hanover
Head to the Fan for old school scary row houses decked out in Halloween fun. The Hanover Avenue area around the 2000ish block is your stop to enjoy candy and tall decorated lights and houses. It’s just a rumor, but I heard some people are handing out entire Snicker bars, not just the fun size, kids!
Westover Hills Haunted
The Southside crew close to the James River can head on over to two pockets of happenin’ Halloweeness. New Kent Road at the corner of Westover Hills Boulevard is closed, allowing families to walk safely in the street while they trick or treat. Scary houses so close together make this spot easy and fun to gather candy.

We got a tip that just over the side, toward the Forest Hill Terrace area, there is a lovely spot of trick-or-treating potential on the 43rd-45th block of the neighborhood with a super spooky house on 43rd. Be on the bleeding edge of up-and-coming Halloween fame, people!
Northside Nightmare
Two blocks north of West Laburnum on spooky Seminary Avenue is the place to be this Saturday. Wander this great neighborhood that goes all out for treats and family fun galore. Word on the street is that so many folks know of this awesome place there can be lines, so be patient. It’s worth it!
