Are you a stakeholder in public schools? Trick question! Everyone is!
Take a few minutes and take the RPS survey, which is kind of a big deal, as Valerie Catrow reports.

Edisonmas!
Get your lights and ballet stuff on while you can! Here’s our continuing roundup of electrical mayhem and dizzying holiday dance. The Kwanzaa festival is nigh, too, and it is a whole lot of fun.

There are right ways and wrong ways to give back
We loved this piece by Holly Gordon, in which she gives us all sorts of suggestions for ways to give back. One of those suggestions is: don’t! Or at least, wait until January, when donations and stuff tend to dry up for nonprofits. Turns out, people are hungry all year round! Holly works at HandsOn, which makes her kind of an expert, and her ideas are rad.

Walk in the street, I guess?
Our pal Nicholas Smith has put together a cool map (uncool, technically) of the sidewalks downtown that are in a state of semipermanent construction at the moment. Depending on where you’re headed, this makes for some challenging travels by foot. I’d like to see a similar map of Scott’s Addition sidewalks that simply don’t exist.
