Godwin High School teacher killed in auto accident Friday on John Rolfe Parkway

Todd Allen Phillips, teacher and coach at Mills Godwin High School, lost his life when his vehicle collided with another at an intersection without working traffic signals.

From Henrico Police:

On Friday, June 17, 2016, at 2:20 PM, Henrico Police responded to the intersection of Ridgefield Parkway and John Rolfe Parkway for an accident involving two vehicles. The traffic signal at the intersection was without power due to the previous night’s storm. It was determined a 2009 Hyundai SUV was traveling north on John Rolfe Parkway and a 1997 Toyota SUV was traveling west on Ridgefield Parkway and collided in the intersection. Neither vehicle appears to have come to a stop at the intersection prior to the crash. The driver of the Toyota, Todd Phillips, was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai received minor injuries and was transported to local medical facility for treatment.

Deceased: Mr. Todd Allen Phillips – 55-year-old male – Henrico, Virginia

Our thoughts are with the Phillips family during this difficult time.
