Glen Allen girl makes it to second round of ‘Chopped Junior’ on Food Network

Emily Waters was ‘chopped’ after the second round; Claire Hollingsworth of Moseley swept the competition and earned the top prize.

An 11-year-old Glen Allen girl took on the competition on Chopped Junior Tuesday night, making it to the second round of the show.

Emily Waters was selected to appear on the Food Network show, which is the children’s version of the popular adult cooking competition, following an audition process that included a video entry and several rounds of followup.

Waters began cooking with her mother in the kitchen at age four, according to Food Network. She attended the New York City taping with another fellow Richmonder, 10-year-old Claire Hollingsworth of Moseley.

Hollingsworth won the competition, earning her a $10,000 prize.
