2011 Garden Wars: to the victor go the spoils

Well, was it even a contest? No matter how hard anyone tried, no matter what dirty dog-related tricks they pulled no one could defeat Sarah Milston.

Well, was it even a contest? No matter how hard anyone tried, no matter what dirty dog-related tricks they pulled no one could defeat Sarah Milston. She dominated the field on the back of fantastic photography, a creative garden, and one seriously cute kid.

So, congratulations Sarah! You are the 2011 Garden Wars Champion! Hooray! What does she win? Pure, unadulterated glory. What more could anyone want?

To celebrate, here are some of the best pictures taken over the course of this year’s competition. Enjoy!

Congratulations, Sarah! And thanks to everyone for all of the wonderful and inspiring photos!

  2. Nice job, Sarah. The garden. The pictures. The parenting. I was first to go and you were the last competitor standing, but I think the difference between all of us was just a few hours of sun or gallons of water here or there. Or maybe it was the kiddie porn. But, I digress. Did I mention my fall crop is sour grapes?

Pretty pictures and stories to support them. Everybody’s a winner. It should be noted that the pictures above come from each of us garden warriors and seem to have been selected by the RVAnews staff. If their order represents a ranking, then my red sorrel must have come in second (pats self on back). Congrats.

  3. I don’t know crap about gardens but those are some ridiculously beautiful pics. Congrats, S!

Congrats, Sarah! As much as I wanted my husband to win, I’m so glad the GIRL took the trophy home! Also, please let us know your secret to those luscious figs. Our fig tree looks like A Charlie Brown Christmas.
