Food News: More Beer! Foo Dog opens! FOOD TRUCKS!

RVA businesses are in full bloom this Spring, and we’re really excited about the growing beer-maker population, new places to get great food, and FOOD TRUCK SEASON

Feeling like something has been missing in your beer palette whenever you visit the nearest watering hole? Well worry no more, for Ardent Craft Ales has just signed with Brown Distributing and will be stretching out from its cozy location in Scott’s Addition to bars and restaurants around Richmond.

Because one beer story wasn’t enough, get ready for the brand spankin’ new Triple Crossing Brewing set to open its doors in Monroe Ward next week! The place will feature a tasting room and outside deck where walkers, bikers, and drivers can come together and drink (responsibly) in perfect hoppy harmony.

Church Hill just got a bit sweeter now that Chocolates by Kelly opens this Saturday after a successful soft open on Tuesday. Kelly’s second location will feature a wide range of chocolates from the classic box of the good stuff to chocolate balsamic vinegar. This spot even has space for workshops where we can learn how to make the world a better place by doing amazing things with chocolate! Invite us over if you need taste testers.

Church Hill is also getting a bit fresh! Starting in June, GrowRVA will run a farmers market in Chimborazo Park. It’s said to be very similar to the South of the James Market, so now you’ll have two choices on where to go to get the most local of goods from neighboring businesses and farms.

These guys weren’t fooling around! Foo Dog opened its doors earlier this week, and from the looks of it, Richmond has embraced the Asian street food place with open… chopsticks? Yeah I went there. In case you’ve been living in a foodless cave, this place has gotten a lot of praise, and was created by those who brought us Fat Dragon and The Blue Goat, it has to be good.

Food truck season is upon us! From 5:30-8:30, Tuesday through Friday, you can follow the Food Truck Court anywhere from Hardywood to new places such as the West End Assembly of God. There are different starting dates for the locations, please take note here!

Kroger Plus Card holders rejoice! There’s a gigantic Kroger Marketplace now located on Staples Mill, just in case the Midlothian, Short Pump, Carytown, and Willow Lawn locations weren’t adequate enough for you to fulfill your every grocery shopping desire.
