The Smith Cross Road cocktail ($9) at The Roosevelt is a coupe full of Virginia warmth to complement a crisp fall evening. Named for a road familiar to bartender T. Leggett, the drink incorporates Virginia cider and apple brandy. Haitian rhum provides more warmth, maple syrup adds a complex sweetness, and lemon cuts brightly through the sugar.
