Favorites: Rappahannock’s scallops
Perfectly cooked scallops are hard to come by, but when you eat one, you know because of the buttery texture and delicate flavor. At Rappahannock Restaurant, chef Dylan Fultineer serves perfectly cooked Virginia scallops ($22) from the grill. As if these bivalves weren’t delicious on their own, they surround rich, beefy braised oxtail and roasted cauliflower coated in a healthy dose of curry powder. You’d be hard-pressed to wash it down with something tastier than bartender Katie Nelson’s “Almost Home” ($10)–a refreshing cocktail made with Manzanilla sherry.
