Favorites: Rappahannock’s barrel aged coffee & amari blend

Rappahannock’s kitchen deserves attention, but the bar is worthy of its own praise. Let the barrel aged coffee and amari1 blend ($10) serve as proof. Cold brewed coffee is mixed with a blend of four amari to create a complex beverage best enjoyed in slow, contemplative sips. A deep inhale over the glass picks up mint and chocolate aromas, while each sip delivers a coffee richness supported by a variety of herbal and vegetal notes form the amari. The final ingredient is time in a used whiskey barrel to round off the edges and impart subtle oaky and vanilla undertones.
