Favorites: Commercial Taphouse’s cask ale

I love the experimentation happening in the beer world. But some of my favorite pours are of the old school: unfiltered, unpasteurized, and hand pumped from a cask at cellar temperature. Commercial Taphouse usually has a cask ale available, like this St. George Cask IPA ($6.25 for an imperial pint). The resulting beer is mellow and very drinkable with the bitter hop notes softened up a little. St. George Brewing Company may brew beer in Hampton, VA, but drinking their Cask IPA provides a little taste of England here in Richmond.
