Ellwood’s Cafe is hosting a monthly wine down dinner on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 6pm 8pm, featuring a three course meal with wine pairing. Tickets are $35 per person and can be reserved at Ellwood Thompson’s customer service or at Ellwood’s Café. Vegetarian and vegan substitutions can be made with one week’s notice.

1st course: Fried oysters with brie, lemon burre blanc, and sautéed spinach

2nd course: Duck leg gallontine with potato cigar and spiced cabbage

3rd course: Couchon du lait with hoppin John grits, smoked tomatoes

Ellwood’s market just received today (Friday) one case of Bell’s Hopslam and is selling it in singles only, by request, with a maximum of three per customer. Hurry and get ‘em!
