Drop-in child care spot opening in Midlothian

KidZ Space, a drop-in hourly child care center, is set to open on Monday, March 31st.

Local parents are about to have an alternative to begging Grandma to help out when they find themselves in need of last minute child care. (Snow days, anyone?)

KidZ Space, a drop-in child care center for children ages 2 to 12, will open on Monday, March 31st in the Woodlake Commons Shopping Center. Their 4500 square foot space offers something for all ages, including indoor play gyms, plenty of toys for the little ones, and a daily activity schedule of arts and crafts and story time. Older kids will also be pretty stoked that they’ve got the latest games for the Wii and Xbox 360 on hand as well.

Drop-in rates are $9.25 per hour for the first child, and $6 per hour for each additional sibling. Kids can stay for a maximum of four hours per day. They also offer a Stay and Play option every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM when parents remain at the facility while their kids play. Stay and Play is $5 per child for the full two hours.

While KidZ Space is a drop-in center, it is recommended that you call ahead to make sure there is space available. There is no enrollment fee, but you will be required to complete a registration form and provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate and recent shot and physical records.

Keep in mind that KidZ Space is not a sick-care facility; it’s intention is to offer families flexible, quality¹ child care when they need it.

KidZ Space will be open 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday. The will also offer occasional Date Nights with care, activities, and dinner provided from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM for $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional sibling.
