Duke outlasted UVA at Cameron indoor in the most Duke way ever: with soft rims. Still, UVA is putting together the pieces just in time for a weak ACC. Aaron Williams

There’s a long drop-off between #2 and #3. Can the Spiders scrape together enough A-10 wins to stay in 3rd place?Chris Crowley

The Tribe shot 60% from three and displayed impressive toughness down the stretch to notch a huge CAA victory over Drexel.Mike Barnes

As a completely unbiased voter in this poll, it gives me no joy to see Virginia Tech continuing to lose. Just kidding.Brian Leung

Radford

12-5, 2-0

Radford ranged in voting from #4 to #10. Expect the Highlanders’ already impressive 12 wins to balloon against opponents from the Big South.Aaron Williams

The Monarchs have already surpassed their win total (5) from last season. Things are looking up.Gary Cope

NSU has been the CPR darling for the last year. They’ll clean up in the MEAC but Radford is tugging on voters’ heartstrings.Aaron Williams

Turns out the A-10 is a little harder than the CAA. And it’s only going to get harder.Mike Barnes

I take a little issue with UVA’s commentary, notably UVA’s rank and the comment about the ACC being weak: (i) UVA has a RPI and BPI of 22 and 24, respectively (compared to 53 and 32 for VCU); (ii) the ACC has 3 teams in the Top 25 (compared to 2 for the A-10); and (iii) the ACC has seven teams ranked in the top 50 in RPI or BPI, compared to just four for the A-10. If by weak, you mean Duke and UNC are not the normal powerhouses they usually are, you would be correct. You would have also forgotten about newcomers Pitt and Syracuse (which by the way, is ranked substantially ahead of any A-10 team).

I mean weak compared to expectations this season and usual performance. It was not a comparison between the A-10 and ACC. Syracuse is the only legitimate team. I’m still not buying Pitt and below that teams are fairly pedestrian. After last night, I plan on voting UVa #1.
