Chairman Brando’s Fancy Finds: Dec 2, ’10

Ugh. December already? Where did 2010 go? Anyway, just two things today, mostly because one of them is rather long. (TWSS?)

Sintel, the third open movie by the Blender Foundation

Normally, I’ll embed YouTubes within the posts to make it easy, but this is a special circumstance.

I’m gonna need you guys to click this link right here and then watch it fullscreen — bask in its 720p glory. No, seriously, do it. I got it set to load in HD mode; all you gotta do is click the fullscreen button (and maybe pause it to let things buffer if YouTube is being slow like a butt).

So, what is it? Well, it’s a short film (15 minutes) that may or may not have made me tear up a little bit. For all you nerds out there, it’s that plus it was made using open-source software, which is pretty cool.

You can find out tons more information about the movie and its development over here. There’s also a bunch of download links so you can see it in full quality if you so desire.

Death metal Louis Armstrong

Whether or not you like death metal, you should give this a watch. Look at his face. LOOK AT IT.
