The Carytown Food and Wine Festival is Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 12pm to 6pm. The 7th annual event showcases Carytown restaurants and Virginia wineries.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate; they cover wine tasting and include a souvenir tasting glass. Restaurants will have signature food items for sale, and there is a discount for designated drivers, (just $10) which includes free soft drinks.

The event will be within the Cary Court Shopping Center, so the street will not be closed like with other festivals. It is a family friendly event — children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult and there will also be live music and face painting. A wristband will allow you to come and go throughout the day, leaving plenty of opportunity to walk and shop in Carytown.

Event organizers suggest you leave your pets at home due to the size and capacity of the space.

You can purchase tickets online or at a number of Carytown merchants.
