Buskey Cider posts job listing for Associate Ciderist

Do you have what it takes to work in a startup cidery in Scott’s Addition?

From Craft Beverage Jobs:

Buskey Cider is seeking an associate ciderist to help in all aspects of production and to fill the third key position in our founding team.  Buskey is a well-funded start up cidery in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia.  We are several months from launch and are seeking an individual who has experience in fermentation along with passion for cider.

You will work closely with Matthew Meyer, a graduate of UC Davis Fermentation and a former Napa Valley Winemaker on all aspects of the production process- recipe creation through packaging.  We are canning and kegging our cider.  Ultimately we would like someone who has a good sense of humor and enjoys people but we really care more about your passion, experience and work ethic.

Buskey Cider is fun, approachable, refreshing, quirky, loves Richmond and is more concerned with your passion for fermenting stuff than some of your personal short comings.

Candidate should have a good working knowledge of the fermentation process, along with some experience working in a cellar, (cidery, winery or brewery).  A strong passion for the industry can compensate for lack of experience.   Additional responsibilities include helping in tap room and sales events.  The ability to lift 45 lbs is required along with working overtime in peak times.  A valid driver’s license is required.  Salary and compensation are commensurate with experience.

If you are interested and would like to discuss this opportunity in greater detail please contact Will Correll at buskeycider@gmail.com.
