Often foodies are forced to decide on the eternal food pairing question: beer or wine? TJ’s Restaurant at the Jefferson Hotel (101 W. Franklin Street) gives you a new competition to consider with their “spirited” tasting this Saturday, January 29, 2011: Beers vs. Cocktails.

From 6-9pm, you can sample small bites of Executive Chef James Schroeder’s dishes paired with different craft brews and handmade cocktails, for $25. The exact pairings are a secret for now, but attendees get to vote on the best pairing, which will be announced at the end of the evening. Beer lovers will appreciate hard-to-find selections from brewers like Southern Tier, Weyerbacher, and Blue Mountain.
