Beer festival coming to Mayo Island this weekend

Over 20 local craft beers and unlimited sampling.

The RVA Rock$ OnTap festival taking place on Mayo Island, on Saturday, April 12th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM seems to be flying under the radar. My usual beer geek friends have been mum.

The festival is taking a unique approach in that only RVA beers will be on tap and will offer unlimited sampling.

Details on their website and below.

RVA ROCK$ and Fetch A Cure presents the first beer festival of the year featuring ONLY local craft breweries!  You will be able to enjoy unlimited sampling of more than 20 local craft brews (Click Here To View A List of Attending Breweries) along with live music, a top selection of RVA’s favorite food vendors and a commemorative pint glass (while supplies last)…all staged on historic Mayo Island!  All sampling is included in your regular ticket price and if you find a brew you really like, additional 16 oz. pours will be available from $6 – $7 each.  Additionally, VIP ticketholders will have access to sampling one hour before the general public (11:00 am) as well as a catered VIP section, preferred parking and a free treat at the Official AfterParty at Southern Railway Taphouse!

All ticketholders will have access to the festival throughout the day with a designated wristband.  We ask that you keep your ticket stub for re-entry as well as proof of purchase.  Valid ID should be in your possession at all times and is required to take advantage of sampling and purchases.  Standard ticket prices are $25 in advance and $30 onsite.  VIP ticket prices are $40 in advance and $50 onsite (availability limited).

RVA Rock$ is a universal consumer reward program that allows you to scan QR codes at local businesses earning ROCK$ which you can then redeem in the $HOP. Currently there are 12 rewards that you can claim in the $HOP including a discounted hair cut, free tea, and half off a mojito at Kenn-Tico’s.

Agreed. People, we have great local breweries here that you can visit. With no cover charge. Bring your dog, your kids, your grannie. Some have live music on the weekends. Here are a few I’ve been to that I would highly recommend:
    Hardywood
Lickinghole Creek ( in Goochland, great outdoor seating)
    Strangeways
    Isley Brewing
