Ardent signs with Brown

Ardent is looking at a late spring start date and distribution shortly after opening.

Beer fans rejoice, yet to be opened Ardent Craft Ales has signed a deal with Brown Distributing which means their beer should be relatively easy to get of hold of in the near future. You can see the Ardent crew celebrating the signing above at The Cask, likely one of the first spots to see an Ardent in the wild.

Details in the press release include word that Ardent’s first beers will be a Honey Ginger and a Saison. Honey Ginger has me very intrigued.

“This is an incredible time for craft beer in Richmond and we’re honored to become part of this community with Brown as our partner,” said Paul Karns, Sales and Marketing Director for Ardent Craft Ales. “We know we have a fantastic team supporting our launch, bringing us into a strong network of local brewers, and proudly representing our beers and our story.”

“We’ve enthusiastically followed Ardent from their start in Church Hill, and are beyond excited to work with them and formally bring their beer to Richmond,” said Jacob Brunow, Head of the Craft and Import Department at Brown Distributing. “They not only bring a distinct style of beer and brewing to the area, but represent the incredible talent that defines and draws attention to Richmond’s thriving beer culture.”

Ardent plans to initially distribute its Saison and Honey Ginger beers to local establishments and plans to release other core and seasonal brews soon after opening. Richmond-based Brown Distributing Company earned the Craft Beer Distributor of the Year award in 2012 for their impressive craft beer portfolio and attention to service and beer knowledge.
