5 Things for Families

This weekend offers lots of opportunities for you to have fun with your kids AND expose them to stuff you loved when you were a wee whippersnapper yourself. Those things don’t always go together, btdubs, so act while you can.

1. Love A Tree Day

Children ages two through six are invited to come by the library for a reading of The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. Parents of said children ages two through six are invited to sob quietly in the back of the room because THAT DAMN KID TOOK ALL OF HER APPLES AND BRANCHES AND SHE STILL JUST WANTED HIM TO BE HAPPY.

2. Dominion Riverrock

3. Science After Dark

It’s a “Nano-science extravaganza!” Play with magic sand and magnet Ferrofluid, learn about dwarf planets, and end the evening with a screening of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in The Dome.

4. Movies & Mimosas: Mary Poppins

My chest already hurts a little bit just thinking about watching this on the big screen.
