1. Harlem Globetrotters 2016 World Tour

You know when you’re at a basketball game and you’re like, “I really wish the players would start doing funny tricks instead of just dribbling and shooting and running around.” Well if you go see the Harlem Globetrotters, you’ll be like, “I really am enjoying these funny tricks! I am so amused!”

2. Beethoven at the Broadberry

Wait…isn’t the Broadberry a concert venue usually for loud rock bands? And isn’t Beethoven for stuffy, boring people? No!! Get those thoughts out of your head now! Classical Revolution RVA is bringing classical music into the mainstream around town, and this weekend is no exception. Bring your music-loving self to the Broadberry to hear some good ol’ Beethoven. It’s a different kind of classical concert than you’re used to, but stuffy, boring people can still come (if they must).

3. Late Nite Catechism

Take yourself back to your childhood days in Catholic school (or what would have been your childhood days in Catholic school if you hadn’t gone to regular old public school). In this comical portrayal of a Catholic school classroom, the fanatical Sisters will whip the audience–I mean, students–into shape. They’ll give out rewards for good participation and behavior, but don’t talk out of turn or pass notes or throw spitballs, because you could find yourself banished to the corner of the room. Or with a ruler on your knuckles. Oh, nuns!

4. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

It’s your standard boy-gets-a-colorful-coat-then-gets-sold-into-slavery-by-his-brothers story. Complete with catchy Broadway tunes and a happy ending. Plus, on the website, the guy playing Joseph looks wildly handsome…even if that guy stood on the stage for two hours not doing anything, I would still go.

5. Polar Plunge
