Brush up your Spanish and head over to the Science Museum this Saturday for the 10th Annual Qué Pasa Festival. From 11am-7pm, the state-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month includes the food, music, and dance of the vibrant Spanish and Latin American cultures. New this year is Passport to Education, an educational symposium to bring resources to Hispanic youth. Private, state, and federal organizations will be on site, with interpreters as needed, to help families learn how to navigate and plan for the future. Featured presenter, Elizabeth Williamson, Lead Education Program Specialist, U.S. Department of Education will speak from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

The outdoor festival will also include a Piñata Expo, featuring piñatas crafted by high school students all across Virginia, work by artists from Guatemala to Ecuador, and a NASA astronaut. Inside the museum bilingual guides and Spanish-language IMAX films will be available.

Hosted by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Qué Pasa was founded to foster bonds between the state and its Hispanic community, one of the Commonwealth’s fastest-growing.
