The Brookland Park Boulevard community is continuing to see a commercial boom. Last week, V&S Unique Wireless Communications held the grand opening of its store at 11½ West Brookland Park Boulevard.

Co-owners Veronica and Sherrilyn Hicks received assistance from the City’s Department of Economic Development’s ‘Neighborhoods in Bloom’ and Commercial Area Revitalization Effort (CARE) programs to help launch their new business.

A city press release has more:

With continued commitment and dedication to addressing the challenges of inner city communities, the mother-daughter team chose the Northside community because they recognized the unmet technology and communications needs of that area. They realized that in the current fast-paced globalization environment, everyone needs access to technology tools in order to compete.

In addition to offering state-of-the-art wireless equipment and services, V&S Unique Wireless Communications houses a business and print center that provides business cards, faxing, printing, copy and flyer production, as well as notary services.

As an authorized dealer, V&S Unique Wireless Communications is strategically partnered with several wireless providers, including Boost Mobil, Power Link and Total Call, to offer customers a choice of a full line of reliable, competitively priced, prepaid phones and monthly service plans with a variety of features and options.

Store hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. V&S is closed Sundays.
