West Broad Village candy store to close in February

Sweet Spot Candy announced this week the shop will not renew its lease when it ends.

A Short Pump candy store shared some bittersweet news this week. Sweet Spot Candy in West Broad Village announced the shop won’t renew its lease when it expires in February.

In an email to customers, owners stated:

First, we want to thank you for the past four amazing years. You have been incredibly supportive of Sweet Spot and we are honored to share this time with you. Our lease ends on February 10, 2015 and we have come to the very difficult decision to not renew. The store has been everything we hoped for, but we are not able to commit to another lease at this time. Our last day open will be February 6, 2015.

Sweet Spot says they are open to a sale to a new buyer, should someone want to keep the shop open.

  1. Very sad to read this. I am a resident of West Broad Village and seeing so many businesses leave the already empty retail area is disturbing. I doubt the retail market can be saved without a big investment from an anchor store.
