Any restaurant experiences a few hiccups when the doors open. Weezie’s Kitchen in CaryTown is getting their fill. Between staff and, ahem, pet issues, Weezie’s was starting out shooting the moon.

My friend Jen and I ate at Weezie’s last Friday. I ordered the meatloaf, while Jen ordered the Chicken cordon blue. My meal was amazing – the best meatloaf I’ve ever had, with amazingly fresh mashed potatoes and a fresh salad. Jen’s meal left a lot to be desired, with 2 chicken breasts covered in mustard (no “cordon blue” in sight), with 4 anemic asparagus, and some macaroni & cheese that was tasty, yet unfulfilling. Jen left unhappy, while I was quite content (maybe I should have shared more of my meatloaf).

In the end, I true it up to a new restaurant finding its niche. When a new restaurant opens named after a pet pug, and the pug passes away before the opening, who can blame the restaurant for some missteps? I’ll certainly give Weezie’s another go.
