VHS needs your books

Bring gently used historically related fiction and non-fiction to the Museum Shop and help out the Virginia Historical Society.

We all know that if you sell your books at a garage sale your likely to get a dollar or two. If you don’t sell them the stack next to your bed will continue to grow until eventually you are crushed beneath an avalanche of tomes.

The Virginia Historical Society (VHS) is willing to help you out with your book problem.  They’re taking donations of gently used hard and soft cover, fiction and nonfiction books to sell at their annual Summer Book Sale. The only requirements are that they be in good condition and have a historical connection.

All books collected will be sold at deeply discounted prices during the VHS Summer Book Sale on Friday, June 6th, and Saturday, June 7th.

Books may be donated at the VHS Museum Shop during regular business hours: Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We cannot accept any reference books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.), journals or magazines.

Donations are tax deductible. All money raised from the book sale supports the VHS educational programs.

If you have questions about book donations or the sale, please contact the Museum Shop at 804.342.9671.
