VCU fall commencement on Saturday

Expect less parking and more people out and about in Richmond.

If your favorite restaurant is more crowded than usual or you notice an inordinate amount of people driving the wrong way down our one way streets now you know the reason. Virginia Commonwealth University will hold its fall commencement activities on Saturday, conferring degrees to its August and December graduates. More than 2,100 students are expected to participate in commencement ceremonies.

The official commencement ceremony starts at 10:00 AM at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. with the doors opening at 8:45 AM.

Friends and families of the graduates will be arriving tonight through Saturday morning and are currently making reservations at your favorite restaurant for their party of 16. Killing your chances of that magical anniversary dinner for your spouse that you had dreamed of for at least the past two days.
