The following message is from the Richmond police’s Lt. Timothy R. Morley (4th Precinct – Sector 412):

I’m asking for some help in raising the level of vigilance by people in our neighborhoods in response to recent incidents in which heat pumps and a/c units have been stolen from vacant / for sale homes in North Richmond. Please pass the word to your neighbors to call us if they see any suspicious activity or vehicles around any homes like this in their areas. Don’t forget to jot down license plate numbers too if you can do it safely. We’re hoping that with your help we can put the copper and aluminum thieves behind (un-recycled steel) bars for the holidays.
