This Monday, September 8, we will watch the short documentary, “Unity for the Community” created by Environmental Justice Action Media (EJAM). EJAM is a Boston based network of students, teachers, and activists working for environmental and social change with media as their tool. Our discussion will focus on the topic of Environmental Injustice – the theory that environmental issues tend to disproportionately affect people of lower socioeconomic status. We will explore ways in which we see such environmental injustices occurring within our community and discuss ways in which we can work towards full equity and inclusion in the environmental community and the city at large.

You are cordially invited to join us for conversations on the Back Porch, Monday evenings at GlobeHopper coffee house. GlobeHopper, located at 2100 E Main Street, is home to a weekly forum of open issue-based community discussions. Back Porch moderates multi-media discussions based on social topics of social-interest. Gathering begins at 6:30pm, multi-media discussion begins promptly at 7:00pm.
