Two Starbucks employees injured in bizarre attack at Innsbrook location

Two baristas received facial wounds; one remains in intensive care at VCU Medical Center.

A Starbucks employee remains unconscious and in intensive care at VCU Medical Center following a bizarre attack that occurred at the chain’s Parkside Marketplace location early Monday morning.

Around 5:30 AM, employees called police to report a suspicious man in the store’s parking lot in the 1800 block of West Broad Street, across from the Innsbrook Corporate Center.

The man then entered the store and attacked two baristas, leaving both with facial wounds. When Henrico Police arrived on scene, they arrested Worku Asfaw Woldemariam, 30 years of age, charging him with two counts of assault and one count of malicious wounding.

No money or merchandise was stolen during the attack; the suspect’s motives remain unclear.

Woldemariam was arraigned in Henrico General District Court this morning.

Wait, the 1800 block or the 18000 block? Two Completely different locations. I’d think 18000 because 1800 is near one end of Monument Ave.

Actually the 10800 block. Specifically that Starbucks is listed at 10865 W Broad.
