Triangle Players brings hit holiday musical ‘We Three Lizas’ to town

An award-winning cast brings the hit Chicago musical to Scott’s Addition with shows through December 13th.

A new holiday musical that set box office records with a modern spin on the classic tale ‘A Christmas Carol’ opened this week at Triangle Players theatre in Scott’s Addition. Shows featuring the award-winning cast run through December 13th.

From the news release:

We Three Lizas, the truly terrific holiday musical that has been smashing box office records in Chicago since it premiered three years ago, makes its mid-Atlantic premiere at Richmond Triangle Players this week.

In a wonderful spin on the classic A Christmas Carol, Scrooge-like Conrad Ticklebottom’s life has hit a block. Once, Conrad (played by RTCC Award Winner Doug Schneider) and his purple box ignited an entire movement in art and design, but now he finds himself alone, forgotten and teetering on ruin.

The holidays bring three magical figures to his door. A trio of Liza Minnellis — Past (Anne Grey Hogan), Present (Kirk Morton) and Yet to Be (Tarnee Kendall Hudson) — escort him on a fabulous journey through what-was, what-could-be and what-the-h*ll!, redeeming his lost promise and re-inventing a brand-new man.

Critics have hailed We Three Lizas as “chock-full of glittery camp, stylized silliness and a hefty amount of heart” ! RTP’s cast also features Hannah Hammond, Morgan Meadows, Ian Page and Caleb Wade in multiple roles.

We Three Lizas is directed by Keith Fitzgerald, who also directed last year’s sell-out smash holiday show, It’s a Fabulous Life, with musical direction by RTCC Award-Winner Kim Fox, and choreography by Marisa Guida.

The set design is by 2014 RTCC Award Winner Benjamin Burke, costume design by Alex Valentin, lighting design by David White and sound design by 2014 RTCC Award Winner Joey Luck. Sophie Raven Shaw is the stage manager.
