U.S.News has awarded Thomas Jefferson a Bronze medal in their national ranking of high schools.

Richmond Public Schools can claim the #2 and #3 high schools in the region: Community High School was awarded a Gold Medal (17th best high school in the state and #343 nationally), while Open High was awarded a Silver Medal (#20 in Virginia and #518 in the country). The highest ranking Chesterfield County high school is Midlothian High School at #21 Virginia / #530 nation; Deep Run high school in Henrico comes in at #14 in Virginia / #284 nationally.
