Three injured after car slams through West End apartment complex

Victims remain hospitalized with serious injuries.

Two residents, a 29-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son were pinned under a vehicle that smashed through their apartment in the Three Chopt West apartments at Three Chopt and Eastridge Road just after 6:30 PM Sunday evening, WTVR-TV reports.

Henrico Fire crews worked feverishly to free the two trapped victims. They were transported to a nearby hospital, along with the driver of the vehicle, with serious injuries.

There was no word on the cause of the accident at press time, but authorities continue to investigate.
